Aakriti Newage Foundation is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 2019 by a group of university students.
Aakriti works on the multi-spectrum; it channels unused material lying idle in urban homes to the far-flung villages of South Rajasthan. Skills and empower women and girls by providing resources, spreading social awareness, focusing on sustainable living, and educating underprivileged children to uplift humanity and provide people with dignified lives. Although we work with government institutions as well.
Aakriti was formed in 2019 by a group of university students, together with a few volunteers. Beginning by distributing food and organising education camps, highlighting education and nutrition as a metaphor for the basic but ignored needs of economically weaker people, Aman and Riddhi started Aakriti to bring education and nutrition into the development agenda as something important to work on. Aman Vaya, Founder Director, Aakriti, is the head of the organisation along with Riddhi Bhatia, Founder Director, Aakriti, who is the head of the skill and sustainability department, which has a core team of 8 members. The organisation does not believe in a lot of hierarchical layers, so everyone is Team Aakriti.

We believe that unless members of the civil society are involved proactively in the process of real development and transformation, sustainable change will not happen. Believing in this principle of ‘Civic Driven Change’ Aakriti Newage Foundation sensitises the civil society to make them partners in its mission.
Aakriti Newage Foundation’s mission is to empower underprivileged children, youth and women, their families and community through relevant education, skill training, sustainability, innovative healthcare, social awareness and market-focused livelihood programmes. We aim to deploy the best possible methodology and technology for achieving the ideal SROI (social return on investment), to practice and promote good governance, to link the business competitiveness of the corporates with social development initiatives and to sensitise the privileged section of society to promote Civic Driven Change.
In our hands-on experience, we have come to understand that a child’s education and holistic development are inseparable from the well-being of the entire family. Health and nutrition, a crucial part of education, can directly impact a child’s attendance and parental support. Our programmes, spanning skilling, nutrition, sports distribution, and women’s empowerment, organically complement our children’s personality initiative, adopting a holistic lifecycle approach. While children and women remain central, our broader focus ensures the well-rounded welfare of both women and their communities.
We distribute clothes, food, shoes, school supplies, sanitary products, and more, depending on the need.
We organise quarterly healthcare camps and distribute basic medicines every month with prescriptions to connect individuals with medical resources.
Around 50% of the funding support of the organisation comes from corporate CSRs; the rest comes from individual donors and crowdfunding.
Shoes protect their feet from injuries caused by heat, rough surfaces, and sharp objects. This can lead to improved health and safety, and potentially, increased work efficiency.
Currently, the project operates in Udaipur, Rajasthan. They plan to expand to other areas of South Rajasthan in the future.
We encourage local farmers and practices that protect the environment and ensure food security by providing them with natural seeds, bringing back organic farming methods, providing digital education to farmers, and adding modern agricultural techniques.
We regularly update our beneficiaries on our current projects and work by sharing stories and updates on our website and social media.
We’ve collaborated with government schools, and the election commission, distributed 5+ lakh clothes and other things through crowdfunding, successfully completed 3 CSR projects and empowered women through skills training.
We aim to expand our reach, empower more communities, and create lasting positive change through diverse means.

“Kalakriti” is our online store for purchasing creative products made by our women and young girls under skill training under the ‘waste to best’ programme. The agenda behind opening a store like this was to give those women a sense of empowerment, as proceeds received will be used to fund Aakriti’s foundation’s various development projects and their skill training. These highly customisable products are made from waste and unused clothes donated to us. We even customise these according to the needs of our customers. It is an opportunity to be a part of the change and bring a smile to the lives of thousands of destitute girls and women.
