Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Brooklyn, NY

200 – 350K (DOE)

 

Position Overview

A leading consumer products company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to drive financial strategy, oversee accounting operations, and partner with leadership to support growth. This is a full-time, in-office role working alongside the CEO and executive team. The CFO will manage a skilled controller-led team (A/R, A/P, accountants, and virtual assistants), ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and scalable systems to support a rapidly growing direct-to-consumer and distribution business.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience in direct-to-consumer, eCommerce, or consumer products .

  • Skilled in ERP systems highly preferred (Acumatica or similar acceptable).

  • Strong communicator, organized, and able to execute with precision.

  • Hands-on leader who can manage detail while driving high-level strategy.

  • Experienced in financial modeling, reporting, and cash flow management .

  • Adept at financing, banking negotiations, and legal/contract review .

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead company-wide financial reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual).

  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies to support growth.

  • Manage cash flow and optimize working capital.

  • Oversee accounting functions: AP/AR, tax, audits, and compliance.

  • Lead ERP integrations and ensure data accuracy across platforms.

  • Mentor and develop the finance/accounting team.

  • Provide financial due diligence and integration for M&A opportunities.

  • Partner with executives to align business and financial goals.

Qualifications & Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA required.

  • Minimum 3+ years as CFO in consumer products / D2C / eCommerce).

  • Full-charge accounting experience.

  • Strong negotiation and financing background.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Plus:

  • ERP experience (NetSuite ideal).

  • Exposure to licensing/production environments.

  • Yiddish language is a plus.
