Job Description
Salary: $70,000 - 110,000 per year Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is necessary.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in Epic application support, ideally in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- A solid understanding of patient registration, admission, discharge, transfer (ADT), and eligibility workflows is essential.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities are required, with the capacity to work effectively alongside both technical and non-technical teams.
- Certifications:
- - Epic Grand Central certification – required
- - Epic Prelude certification – required
- - Epic Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) certification – preferred
- - Additional Epic certifications or cross-certifications – advantageous
Responsibilities: - I provide day-to-day build, maintenance, and support for the Epic Grand Central, Prelude, and RTE applications.
- I collaborate with clinical and administrative stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate these into effective Epic workflows and configurations.
- I design, test, and implement system changes, enhancements, and new functionalities, adhering to BCH change management standards.
- I troubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues, escalating complex matters as necessary.
- I engage in system upgrades, validation, and optimization initiatives to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the system.
- I develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, workflow diagrams, and support materials.
- I work closely with the training team and operational leaders to facilitate the smooth adoption of new functionalities.
- I provide tier-two support while working with the Service Desk and other IS teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- I participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance activities as required.
- I support ongoing improvement and standardization efforts across Epic modules and BCH departments.
Technologies: More:
While experience in an academic medical center or pediatric healthcare environment is preferred, familiarity with Epic integration points, interface workflows, and downstream system impacts is beneficial. Knowledge of HL7 standards and healthcare data exchange, as well as experience with project coordination or participation in Epic upgrade cycles, would be advantageous.
