Job Description

*Position Summary: * Primarily responsible for the repair, adjustment, and preventative maintenance of the equipment located in the Sewing Departments.

*General purpose: * To support the production efforts of the sewing operation by keeping equipment running efficiently and enhancing safety.

Must be able to train on 1^st^ shift 6a-2:30 pm for 6-8 weeks prior to going to 2^nd^ shift. Pay would start around $18.00 per hour.

*Position responsibilities: *

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair sewing equipment located within the facility
• Perform all work in a safe manner, following all safety procedures and requirements
• Work closely with the Safety Committee to maintain an accident-free facility
• Work closely with management in the Sewing Department to contribute to overall goals and objectives.
• Provide timely feedback on issues that affect safety, quality, and/or productivity
• Keep work area(s) clean, organized, and free from debris, trash and clutter
• Work in a safe manner, following all safety procedures and requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience:

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide array of manufacturing machinery to include automatic sewing machines, single/double needle straight stitch sewing machines, zig zag machines, tackers, large capacity slitting/converting machines, and spreader/cutting machines.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Speak, read, and write English fluently
• Ability to keep accurate written records
• Ability to follow both written and verbal directions
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
• At least one year sewing machine repair experience in a manufacturing environment
• Commitment to company values and goals
• Ability to report to worksite at scheduled times

Nonessential skills and experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with electrical systems, pneumatics, and PLCs.
