Work Schedule: Schedule w/i Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm,20-30 hours per week with no more than 1,000 hours per year

The Overdose Prevention Graphic & Multimedia Designer proactively implements communications strategies to reduce overdoses and overdose deaths in communities for the OD2A Grant. This prevents disease and protects the public from health threats. The position works with Sedgwick County Health Department (SCHD) staff and Sedgwick County Strategic Communications to design educational presentations, trainings, videos, brochures, posters, and website graphics to reach Sedgwick County businesses and residents in communities within the County. This position will provide support during public health emergencies.
Produce educational materials to reduce overdoses and overdose deaths
Ensure communication with the public is effective, equitable, understandable and respectful
Manage graphic design and multimedia projects
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Health Education, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Art or related field. Education may be substituted for experience, with one year of education for one year of experience. One year of graphic design experience. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must complete Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) IS 100 and 700 courses within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of work in a public health department or medical clinic. One year of work experience with risk communications or public health emergency preparedness. Two years of website editing experience. One year of video production skills. Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Education, Art or related field.
