Help Us Empower Women Through Sewing Skills for Self-Reliance!

Sui Dhaaga

A secure livelihood helps people get out of poverty. While employability has always been a challenge for the underprivileged, the pandemic followed by job losses and massive pay cuts further pushed them into destitution.
Data from the Centre for Monitoring the Indian Economy indicates that over 40 million people lost their jobs just in the Covid-19 crisis. The effect of the pandemic on the livelihoods of people belonging to the lesser privileged sections has been profound and long-lasting.
Aakriti Newage Foundation recognised the need of the hour and wants to make this programme in strong alignment with the Government of India’s ‘Skill India’ initiative. Our campaign ‘Sui Dhaaga’ aims at Training & Upskilling Girls and Women between the ages of 16-32 years for employment and empowering them with a secure livelihood through sewing machine training and all the things attached to this. This initiative is taken to fight the challenges posed by poverty and unemployment. The revenue generated through the sale of the products made by these women would be used again for their training and purchase of better machines and for establishing a base for generating livelihood.
Donate now to support skill training, employment and a dignified livelihood for underprivileged Women. Give them and their families a chance to step above the poverty line!
